Noida: On Friday morning, at least 20 schools across Noida received bomb threat emails, prompting immediate evacuations and large-scale security measures. Fortunately, police officials later confirmed that all threats were hoaxes.
Schools affected included prominent institutions such as Fr Angel School, Army Public School, Shiv Nadar School, Shri Ram Millennium School, and Ramagya School. Following the threats, authorities evacuated students and conducted thorough security checks at all locations.
Security Response
Police teams, along with bomb disposal squads, fire brigade personnel, and sniffer dogs, rushed to Shiv Nadar School shortly after students arrived for the day. The school announced a one-day closure as a precaution, with buses sent back and parents instructed to pick up their children from designated points.
Similarly, Fr Angel School notified parents that the school had received a bomb threat and would remain closed for the day. The school also canceled online classes as a safety measure.
Investigation and Precautions
Additional Police Commissioner (Law and Order) Rajiv Narayan Mishra stated that the threat emails were received by school principals between 8:00 am and 8:30 am. Police swiftly responded, and after over an hour of searches, no suspicious objects or devices were found at any of the schools.
Security personnel have been deployed outside all affected schools, with entry restrictions in place. An FIR has been lodged at the Cyber Police Station under relevant sections of the law, including those pertaining to cyber terrorism, and efforts are underway to trace the source of the hoax emails.
Background
This is not the first such incident in Noida. Similar hoax threats have been reported previously, including in December last year and May 2024, which also resulted in evacuations but no actual danger was found.
Authorities continue to monitor the situation closely and are investigating to prevent future incidents.
