For Indian students, the year is still quite challenging. First, 23 lakh prospective doctors were impacted by the NEET paper leak. After the total pass rate fell to 85.2 percent, the lowest since 2019, the CBSE’s Class 12 board exams are currently being scrutinized.

The On-Screen Marking (OSM) system, which aims to expedite review by digitizing answer scripts and allowing examiners to evaluate scanned copies electronically, has been a significant factor in the debate.

Cybersecurity researcher and Class 12 student Nisarga Adhikary is direct about what he discovered when he investigated the OSM website following its launch: “It’s really easy for a malicious actor to tamper with the marks.”

Adhikary claims to have found several platform vulnerabilities and notified CBSE and CERT.in an effort to resolve the problems in February 2026. The OSM system examined around 9.8 million answer sheets this year.
