The online module for submitting bank account details to claim a refund of the NEET UG 2026 examination fee will be opened by the National Testing Agency (NTA) today, May 21. The agency previously announced that candidates who are retaking the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test Undergraduate (NEET UG) 2026 will not be required to pay any additional fees for the new exam.

NTA will establish a specialised portal at neet.nta.nic.in as part of the refund process. This portal will enable candidates to submit their legitimate bank account information for reimbursement of the examination fee that was previously paid. Students will be required to log in and provide the necessary banking information to obtain their refund once the module is operational.

The re-examination is being administered in response to the cancellation of the previous NEET UG 2026 exam on May 3, which was cancelled due to allegations of a paper breach and other irregularities. The re-test, which is scheduled to take place in pen-and-paper format from 2 pm to 5:15 pm on June 21, is anticipated to attract more than 22 lakh candidates.

The NTA clarified in its FAQ document that the medium of examination selected during the initial application procedure is non-negotiable at this time.

Update window for current address and exam-city preference

In the event of a relocation or a change in their current address, the National Testing Agency (NTA) has permitted candidates to modify their preferred exam city. The link will remain active on the official website to update the city center until 11:50 p.m. on May 21, 2026. The agency also advised candidates that the examination center designated for the re-examination may differ from the previous center, as the allocation will be contingent upon the availability of centers and the updated city choices.
