Nitesh Tiwari Breaks Down In Tears At Ramayana Mumbai Teaser Launch: ‘Saat Saal Lage’

Nitesh Tiwari Shares Emotional Moments as 'Ramayana' Teaser Launches, Reflects on Seven Years of Effort

Filmmaker Nitesh Tiwari unveiled the teaser for his highly anticipated magnum opus, Ramayana Part 1, today. The event saw the presence of producer Namit Malhotra and other crew members, although Bollywood star Ranbir Kapoor was notably absent. Tiwari appeared visibly emotional during the launch, expressing his gratitude for the journey.

Emotional Reflection on the Journey

In his address, Tiwari revealed, “It had taken me seven years to reach this moment.” He shared that filmmaking is a solitary and uncertain process, with countless moments of doubt and anticipation. “Every moment in these seven years, I imagined this day and wondered how the audience would react. Judging by your reactions today, I feel those seven years were worth it,” he said.

He also thanked everyone involved, saying, “Many people worked very hard to bring this project to life. I hope we get the love we deserve.”

Teaser Offers Glimpse of Epic Saga

The teaser provides a sneak peek of Ranbir Kapoor portraying Lord Rama, showcasing scenes from his coronation to his exile in Panchavati. The visuals depict the character with dignity and grace, while a brief shot hints at Yash as Ravana towards the end.

Ahead of the teaser release, actress Alia Bhatt shared a heartfelt message, urging fans to support the project. “The Ramayana unit is coming out tomorrow. I’m going to post it on my social media. Please go support it. Ranbir has done a wonderful job, and I can’t wait for everyone to see it. It’s absolutely fabulous,” she said.

A Monumental Project in the Making

The film is being mounted on an unprecedented scale. Producer Namit Malhotra revealed that the combined budget for both parts exceeds Rs 4,000 crore (over $500 million). “When we started this project six or seven years ago, many thought I was crazy because no Indian film has attempted such a scale. We’re making the largest film in the world for this epic, and we’re doing it efficiently—more so than some Hollywood productions,” he stated.

The film’s soundtrack features collaborations between renowned composers AR Rahman and Hans Zimmer. Rahman expressed the gravity of the project: “It’s terrifying and exciting. We’re creating something epic, rooted in Indian culture but meant for global audiences. We’re adding new dimensions to an iconic story.”

Star Cast and Release Plans

Apart from Ranbir Kapoor, the film stars Sai Pallavi, Sunny Deol, and Ravi Dubey in key roles. Ramayana will be released in two parts, with the first installment scheduled for a worldwide release in October 2026, ahead of Diwali. The second part is set for Diwali 2027.
