Actor Ranbir Kapoor has officially confirmed he will portray a double role in Nitesh Tiwari’s highly anticipated film Ramayana. While Kapoor will play Lord Rama, he will also make a brief appearance as Parshurama, an earlier avatar of Lord Vishnu. The dual role was subtly hinted at in the film’s latest teaser but had not been formally announced until now.
During the teaser launch event in Los Angeles, Kapoor explained how he approached embodying both characters. He shared that he differentiated the roles through distinct body language and voice modulation, aiming to capture the unique temperaments of Lord Rama and Parshurama. Kapoor emphasized that understanding the spiritual and emotional essence of these avatars was crucial to his performance. “Lord Vishnu had different avatars. Playing both roles was a fantastic opportunity. I spent a year preparing for Ramayana to understand who these characters are, their beliefs, and their motives,” he said.
The actor also highlighted the film’s impressive action sequences, describing them as “nothing less than Lord of the Rings,” with six hours of epic visual content shot for the project.

The teaser also showcases other cast members, including Ravie Dubey as Lakshman and Arun Govil as King Dashratha.
The film’s cast boasts prominent names such as Sai Pallavi as Goddess Sita, Yash (from KGF) as Ravana, Sunny Deol as Hanuman, and Ravie Dubey as Lakshman.
