Toxic EXCLUSIVE: Vishal Mishra wanted to capture Yash and Kiara Advani’s ‘raw energy of love’ in Tabaahi

Vishal Mishra Opens Up About 'Tabaahi', Yash’s Conviction in 'Toxic', and the Chemistry with Kiara Advani

In an exclusive interview with Pinkvilla, renowned singer-songwriter Vishal Mishra shared insights into his work on the upcoming film ‘Toxic: A Fairytale For Grown-Ups’ and the recently released song ‘Tabaahi.’ Mishra revealed how his collaboration with lead actors Yash and Kiara Advani brought the song to life and what he aimed to portray through his music.

Mishra emphasized that ‘Tabaahi’ was crafted to capture the raw, intense energy of love in its most honest form. He explained, “For me, Tabaahi was always about capturing the raw, charged energy of love in its most honest form.” He further elaborated on the musical approach, stating, “Toxic is a very unique film, and the music had to rise to that world. It had to feel big, yet immediate. Accessible, yet deeply real.”

The 34-year-old artist praised Yash’s on-screen presence, noting, “Collaborating with Yash bhai has been one of the most incredible experiences for me. The conviction he carries on screen elevates everything around him.” Mishra also highlighted the on-screen chemistry between Yash and Kiara Advani, which he credits for bringing the song to life and inspiring his creation process.

‘Sources indicate that the song speaks of an all-encompassing love that’s so powerful it destroys everything else with its presence,’ Mishra added. He provided vocals and music for the track, which is part of the film set in the early 1940s and 1970s, depicting a crime-ridden Goa.

Directed by Geethu Mohandas, ‘Toxic’ features an ensemble cast including Yash, Kiara Advani, Nayanthara, Huma Qureshi, Tara Sutaria, Rukmini Vasanth, and Akshay Oberoi. The film is scheduled for release on March 19, 2026, facing competition at the box office from Ranveer Singh’s ‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge’ (also known as ‘Dhurandhar 2’).
