Superstar Mahesh Babu has joined forces with acclaimed director SS Rajamouli for the upcoming sci-fi mythological film Varanasi. The film also stars Priyanka Chopra and Prithviraj Sukumaran in prominent roles. The cast and crew have begun promotional activities, including interviews with several Hollywood agencies.
In an interview with Collider, Mahesh Babu shared behind-the-scenes insights, recalling a humorous moment from the first day of shooting. He revealed, “I couldn’t deliver my lines correctly on the first day, and Prithviraj teased me playfully. I put my hand on his knee to apologize, but he said that’s not his leg.”
The actor also expressed his excitement about the project, mentioning that he was thrilled to see the teaser with the completed VFX. Mahesh Babu praised working with director SS Rajamouli, calling it a delightful experience.
Produced by KL Narayana of Sri Durga Arts, Varanasi features music composed by MM Keeravani. The film is scheduled for release on April 7, 2027.
