The ‘$12 Dinner Box’ deal surfaced on TikTok earlier this week courtesy of user @xolovelei, and it has already received over 10 million views.

In the video, @xolovelei pulls up to a McDonald’s drive-thru and asks the cashier if they have a ‘dinner box’. The cashier confirms that they do and asks what sauces she would like to order with her meal. Note that there’s nothing called a dinner box on the McDonald’s menu.

Then we’re treated to an unboxing of everything included with the dinner, and we have to admit that it reminds us of those magician hats that have a never-ending supply of objects. Two cheeseburgers, four small fries, 10 piece chicken McNuggets, two Big Macs, and sauces are all contained in the box. No drinks were included.

Before you drive to Mickey D’s, here’s the part that could be tricky: the dinner box isn’t available at all McDonald’s locations and the price may vary. Check the price and the items they include before you go.

The comments section of the TikTok is filled with messages from people who either didn’t have the box at their local restaurant or the price was close to double what was in the TikTok.

“This dinner box is $22 here in Ohio idk where it’s $12???” one user asked.

“Not available in NYC,” another person added.

Other TikTokers pointed out that their local McDonald’s offers meal bundles, but the contents are different from those in the dinner box in @xolovelei’s video.

“In the Bundle Box Las Vegas comes with 2 Big Mac 2 Cheeseburgers 10pc Chix Nuggets 2 Medium Fries $14.99,” read one comment.

When unboxing the package, Leiela revealed two cheeseburgers, four small fries, a 10-piece chicken nuggets box, and two Big Macs. The creator displayed the receipt on screen; she was rung up for a MickeyD’s Dinner that cost $12.19 before tax.

“So if you didn’t know like we didn’t know, $12 will get you a dinner box. It’s not on the menu, so you’re probably just going to have to ask,” she said, adding that the dinner box didn’t come with drinks.

“All I heard was ‘can I have the dinner box’ and I called McDonald’s … the manager didn’t know what I was talking about,” one commenter wrote. Another viewer replied, “I think it’s only at certain locations cause mine doesn’t have it.”

That seemed to be the case for many viewers, who reported various availability and prices for the MickeyD’s Dinner Box across markets. In her video, Leiela did not specify what city she ordered the dinner box in.
