Around five tourists and service staff have been stuck in the recently opened’sky dining’ restaurant in Anachal, Munnar for more than two hours. The facility operated by ‘Southern Skies Aerodynamics’ is located at an altitude of 120 feet. The adventure tourism initiative in Idukki kicked off the project a few months ago. According to reports, the tourists stuck on top are from Kannur. Apparently, the restaurant can hold up to 16 people at a time. The operators say they couldn’t lower it because the crane’s hydraulic lever stopped working.
A fire force unit has left from Munnar for Anachal, according to the latest reports. A private individual owns the facility. Tourists can be brought down using ropes, according to the restaurant, and there’s no need to be concerned.
Meanwhile, Idukki Collector Dr. Dinesan Cheruvat told Repute Today, ‘In half an hour, the tourists will be brought down.’ The equipment that lifts the restaurant got stuck, according to the information I received. However, we are not waiting for it to be fixed, but will find ways to bring the tourists down in a short while. Currently, there is no need to panic.”
