Mumbai: The action-packed spy-thriller Dhurandhar, produced by Jio Studios and B62 Studios, has made a remarkable debut at the box office, earning over Rs 28 crore on its opening day, according to official estimates.
Starring Ranveer Singh in the lead role, Dhurandhar is a blend of espionage and gangster genres, marking Singh’s first release of 2025. The film also features prominent actors like Akshaye Khanna, Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Rampal, and Sara Arjun in key roles.
Directed by Aditya Dhar, known for the blockbuster Uri: The Surgical Strike, the film showcases Singh as an Indian spy who successfully infiltrates the gangs of Lyari. The movie not only fictionalizes the ongoing conflicts but also incorporates real-life personalities, with Khanna portraying Rehman Dakait and Dutt enacting the role of SP Chaudhary Aslam.
The film’s trailer features the character Madhavan’s Ajay Sanyal, an Indian intelligence officer, emphasizing the mission to infiltrate terrorism networks in Pakistan. Dhurandhar also marks Sara Arjun’s debut, with her paired opposite Singh.
With its gripping storyline and star-studded cast, Dhurandhar has garnered significant attention, setting a strong foundation for its success at the box office.
