EPFO to Revamp PF Withdrawal Process

New Delhi: The Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) is gearing up to launch a major overhaul of its services, dubbed EPFO 3.0, aimed at simplifying provident fund withdrawals for its 80 million active members. The reforms, set to be rolled out in the coming months, are designed to reduce paperwork, minimize errors, and bring EPFO’s functioning in line with that of a bank.

UPI Facility for PF Withdrawals Coming Soon

One of the key features of the new system is the proposed facility to withdraw PF money using Unified Payments Interface (UPI), including through the BHIM app. This facility is expected to be introduced by April 2026, making it easier for members to access their funds.

Easier Access to Services Nationwide

The revamped system also promises easier access to EPFO services from any office nationwide. Members will no longer be required to visit a specific office to withdraw their PF money, making the process more convenient and hassle-free.

A Major Overhaul

The EPFO 3.0 reforms are a significant step towards modernizing the organization’s services and bringing them in line with the changing needs of its members. With the introduction of UPI facility and easier access to services, the PF withdrawal process is set to become faster, more user-friendly, and more efficient.
