Newly released documents from the Justice Department’s investigation into Jeffrey Epstein have revealed previously undisclosed communications involving Melania Trump, the current First Lady of the United States.
The release includes over three million pages of documents, among which is a friendly email exchange between Melania Trump and convicted sex trafficker Ghislaine Maxwell, dated October 23, 2002 — nearly three years before Melania married Donald Trump in 2005.
In the email, Melania expressed admiration for a New York Magazine article about Jeffrey Epstein and conveyed her interest in meeting Maxwell. She signed off with a warm “Love, Melania.” Maxwell responded affectionately, calling her “sweet pea,” and explained that she could not meet due to travel commitments.
The correspondence reveals Melania’s curiosity about Maxwell’s recent visit to Palm Beach and her eagerness to visit the area herself. Maxwell indicated plans to return to New York, suggesting she would try to call Melania when she was back.
Additionally, the documents include a 2017 email from Epstein to author Michael Wolff, mentioning “some journalists working a lead on a Melania boyfriend,” indicating Epstein’s interest in Melania’s personal life during Donald Trump’s presidency.
These disclosures add new context to the extensive Jeffrey Epstein files released by the Department of Justice, highlighting previously unknown interactions involving Melania Trump and Maxwell.
