George Strait fans are dissatisfied with the absence of a Texas date on his current tour schedule.
The Texas native has a fanbase unlike any other in his home stage, and the Texans were fired up to find out that George Strait was not performing in the Lone Star state this year.
I have a newfound respect for the King after he addressed all the hateful comments. Strait hilariously posted a video on social media without a caption, highlighting all the hate comments fans left about the absence of Texas dates. As the video goes on to “Write This Down,” George Strait is unveiled, sitting with a thumbs up.
Who knew he had these jokes up his sleeve?
While no official announcement has been made, commenters think that this could be leading up to an announcement for a Kyle Field or Austin City Limits show. While fans eagerly await to see if this means a stop in Texas or if Strait is trolling everyone, the comments section provides plenty of entertainment as we wait.
Dive in and enjoy…
“Don’t play with us like this.”
“This would have been the perfect time to play ‘All My Exes Live in Texas.’”
“You trolling us?”
“If you hate us, just say that.”
“See you at Kyle Field.”
“So… Austin City Limits announcement soon?!”
“This post was to clarify that there is no Texas dates.”
“Bro just posted him with his thumbs up, no reply to his fans, legend.”
“You get hacked, Hoss?!”
“He’s like that’s right.”
“George. I’m going to cry.”
“Gig ’em?”
George Strait To Perform At Kyle Field On June 15
Strait, who is renowned for his country music, will be joined by Parker McCollum and Catie Offerman for the in-the-round performance. The show, being called The King at Kyle Field, will be Strait’s only Texas concert for 2024.
Strait has not performed any concerts other than his Strait to Vegas shows at T-Mobile Arena since his Cowboy Rides Away Tour in 2014. Strait has arranged nine concerts with Chris Stapleton in 2024, starting with Indianapolis on May 4, in addition to the Kyle Field performance. Other cities on the stadium tour include Chicago, Detroit, and Charlotte, North Carolina.
Strait has sold more than 105 million albums and has had 60 No. 1 singles throughout his career. In 2006, he was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame.
March 28 at 10 a.m. at thekingatkyle.com is when tickets for the Kyle Field performance are available to the general public. American Express cardholders can purchase tickets starting on March 22 at 10 a.m.
The announcement comes one week after the Mexican national men’s soccer team announced Kyle Field would be included in its annual five-city U.S. tour in 2024. April 5 marks the start of ticket sales for the June 8 match against Brazil at somoslocales.com.
