Jammu and Kashmir continues to experience a severe winter spell on January 15, with freezing nights, foggy plains, and chilly daytime temperatures. Residents are urged to stay warm and exercise caution while traveling amid the harsh weather conditions.

The region remains under the grip of a deep cold wave, with partly cloudy skies and intermittent sunshine offering little relief. Despite some brief sunny spells, temperatures across many areas stay low, maintaining an overall cold atmosphere. Calm and dry weather persists, but warmth remains scarce, especially within the Kashmir Valley.

Night and early morning hours are particularly frigid, with frost covering many surfaces and sub-zero temperatures reported in several districts. Srinagar and surrounding towns are under cold wave conditions, with residents waking up to icy air and frozen roads.

In the Jammu region, dense fog further exacerbates the cold, leading to reduced visibility during early mornings and evenings across plains and highways. Travelers are advised to exercise caution, as foggy conditions combined with icy roads can make driving hazardous.

During the day, valley temperatures are expected to hover near freezing, while higher altitudes remain extremely cold and snow-covered. No significant snowfall is forecasted today, and dry weather is anticipated to continue. Authorities recommend residents and travelers wear heavy winter clothing to cope with the persistent cold.
