Ranveer Singh Extortion Threat Case: Mumbai Police Issue LOC Against Bishnoi Gang Member Harry Boxer

Mumbai: The Mumbai Police Crime Branch has issued a Look Out Circular (LOC) against Harichandra, alias Harry Boxer, a suspected member of the Bishnoi gang, in connection with an extortion threat made to Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh.

LOC Issued Against Key Suspect

According to officials, Harry Boxer has been named as the alleged sender of a threatening voice note demanding a ransom from the actor. The voice message, which was sent to Singh’s manager from an international number reportedly linked to the United States, demanded ₹20 crore.

Police have shared the voice recording with authorities in Punjab and Haryana for verification and have also contacted US officials to trace the origin of the number.

Police Intensify Investigation

The Crime Branch has recorded statements from Singh’s manager and launched a detailed investigation into the threat. Officials said further legal action will depend on verification and evidence gathered during the probe.

The threat reportedly surfaced shortly after a firing incident outside filmmaker Rohit Shetty’s residence in Mumbai, raising concerns about the involvement of organised crime networks.

Security Enhanced for Actor

Following the threat, Mumbai Police increased security at Singh’s residence in Worli. Reports said six police personnel in plain clothes have been deployed to ensure his safety.

Authorities have not yet registered a formal FIR but confirmed that the investigation is ongoing.

Actor Focused on Upcoming Projects

Meanwhile, Singh is preparing for the release of his upcoming film Dhurandhar, directed by Aditya Dhar, which is scheduled to hit theatres on March 19, 2026.
