Former Liverpool defender Stephen Warnock says the top-of-the-table clash against Manchester City on Sunday will be ‘genius’ and ‘a tactical battle’.
Jurgen Klopp’s side is still one point behind reigning champions City and has only lost one of their 20 home games against them.
“If Liverpool have Salah in their team and he’s fully-fit and raring to go, then their front line will cause Manchester City problems,” said Warnock on the Football Daily Podcast. “If they have their midfield of Endo, Szoboszlai and Mac Allister then they’ll also cause City issues.
“There are only three teams in this league that can go toe-to-toe and dominate possession against each other because they’re so good.
“The crowd is going to have a huge effect and they’ll play a huge part in the game, but Liverpool won’t sit back and wait, they’ll go after them.
“It’s going to be a tactical battle and it’s going to be genius. I love this game because there are so many aspects to it when they have jewels of talent on the pitch.”
