Saber Interactive, known for titles such as World War Z, Evil Dead: The Game, and Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2, has revealed an upcoming third-person action game based on the John Wick film series. The game is currently in development alongside franchise director Chad Stahelski and features Keanu Reeves’ likeness.
The trailer showcases a style reminiscent of the movies, depicting Keanu Reeves as John Wick executing slick shoot, punch, and stab sequences with ease. It also teases a scene where a tailor crafts a new suit for Wick, emphasizing his need for agility and versatility: “A man with your skillset must be able to move unrestrained, unconstricted; he must be versatile, capable, adaptable; he must be grounded, stable, constant.” This monologue is contrasted with intense action shots of Wick taking down enemies across a nondescript cityscape.
Developed in collaboration with Lionsgate and Chad Stahelski, the game promises an original storyline set within the John Wick universe, expanding the franchise’s lore with familiar characters and introducing new ones. The developers aim to faithfully recreate the series’ signature style, including a distinctive gun-fu combat system, cinematic camerawork, immersive driving sequences, and diverse environments designed to make players feel as if they are starring as John Wick himself.
Notably, this isn’t the first game to feature Keanu Reeves’ assassin. Back in 2019, developer Bithell Games released John Wick Hex, a strategy/action title set in the same universe.
