Delhi and the NCR region experienced a clear and warm morning on Thursday, with temperatures reaching a high of around 26°C and a low of approximately 12°C. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a forecast indicating that no significant rainfall is expected in Delhi in the coming days.
However, the IMD has predicted that several parts of North India and the Himalayan states will see light rainfall and snowfall due to the influence of three major western disturbances. Areas including Punjab, Haryana, and Chandigarh are expected to witness showers, while Tamil Nadu may also see some rain.
In the northern hill states, snowfall is anticipated in Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand, bringing some relief from the cold wave conditions that have persisted. The IMD has also noted that the cold wave conditions are gradually easing across North India, with nighttime temperatures rising in many regions.
Delhi woke up to a thin layer of fog on Thursday morning, but overall, the weather remained relatively warm. The air quality index (AQI) in Delhi and surrounding areas continued to remain poor, crossing the 200 mark in most locations, indicating unhealthy air conditions.
Residents are advised to stay updated with the latest weather forecasts and take necessary precautions, especially in areas expecting rainfall or snowfall.
