Akshay Kumar Recalls Spooky Incident At Home, Says Twinkle Khanna Kept Saying “There’s Something Here”

Akshay Kumar Opens Up About Spooky Encounter and Upcoming Film Release

In a candid revelation, Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar shared a chilling personal experience that led him to question the existence of supernatural entities. Speaking at the India Today Conclave, Kumar recounted a time when he resided in a house with wife Twinkle Khanna and their son Aarav, where unsettling phenomena reportedly occurred.

Kumar explained, “My wife would often tell me, ‘There’s something here,’” recalling that their young son Aarav, then around four or five years old, also sensed something unusual. “She insisted she had heard a lady walking inside the house,” he added. Despite his skepticism, Kumar acknowledged the possibility of supernatural energy, stating, “Maybe such things do exist—some kind of energy or presence. People say some are surrounded by positive energy, while others attract negativity. There’s always some kind of energy around us.”

This admission comes as Kumar prepares for the release of his upcoming film, Bhooth Bangla, which is shrouded in a ghostly theme. The teaser, over a minute long, showcases a mix of comedy and horror, featuring an ensemble cast including Tabu, Wamiqa Gabbi, Paresh Rawal, Rajpal Yadav, and the late Asrani. The film marks Kumar’s reunion with director Priyadarshan after 14 years, blending wit, humor, and supernatural elements.

Originally scheduled to release on May 15, Bhooth Bangla has been moved forward and will now hit theaters on April 10, 2026. Presented by Balaji Motion Pictures and produced by Kumar along with Shobha Kapoor and Ektaa R. Kapoor, the film promises an entertaining mix of comedy and ghostly intrigue, with a storyline that hints at a haunted house and the Vadhusur curse introduced by Asrani in the opening scene.
