Bollywood’s latest blockbuster, Border 2, continues its successful run at the box office, with its total collection now reaching Rs 286.75 crore. The film, which was released in theatres on January 23, has maintained strong daily earnings, including approximately Rs 5.75 crore on its second Tuesday, as reported by trade tracker Sacnilk.

Box Office Performance Breakdown

Border 2 opened with a robust performance, grossing Rs 224.25 crore in its first week, aided by an extended Republic Day weekend. The film saw consistent growth over the second weekend, with collections rising from Rs 10.75 crore on Friday to Rs 17.75 crore on Saturday, and peaking on Sunday with Rs 22.5 crore.

Monday, coinciding with Republic Day, proved to be the film’s biggest single-day collection so far, earning Rs 59 crore. As of now, the film’s total earnings are approaching the Rs 300 crore milestone, marking it as one of the top grossers of the season.

Comparison and Audience Reception

Border 2 has surpassed the opening weekend earnings of notable films such as Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar, reflecting its strong performance and audience support.

Critical Reception

Film critic Saibal Chatterjee reviewed Border 2 for NDTV, stating, “The film makes a fair fist of extolling the exceptional valour of the soldiers it showcases while exploring, superficially, their vulnerabilities and human side. The drama is punctuated with themes of separation, bereavement, hope, and fear, highlighting the lives and heroism of soldiers in the blink of an eye.”

About the Film

Directed by Anurag Singh, Border 2 features an ensemble cast including Sunny Deol, Diljit Dosanjh, Varun Dhawan, and Ahan Shetty. Set against the backdrop of the 1971 India-Pakistan war, the film serves as a spiritual successor to the original Border, portraying the sacrifices of Indian soldiers during a pivotal moment in history.
