Border 2, the highly anticipated sequel to the 1997 cult classic, continues to perform at the Indian box office amid mixed trends. Released on January 23, the war drama, featuring Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh, and Ahan Shetty, has crossed the ₹300 crore milestone domestically but saw a slight dip in collections on February 9.
On Day 18, industry tracker Sacnilk reported that Border 2 earned approximately ₹1.85 crore, bringing its total collection to ₹311.6 crore. Despite the slowdown, the film maintains a strong presence in theaters.
In terms of audience occupancy, the film registered an overall Hindi occupancy of 7.34% on its third Monday. Breakdown of show timings revealed 4.49% occupancy during morning shows, 8.12% in the afternoon, 7.89% in the evening, and 8.84% at night.
Bollywood trade analyst Taran Adarsh shared an update on the film’s ongoing performance via X (formerly Twitter). He praised Border 2’s continued popularity, stating, “#Border2 continues to remain the first choice of moviegoers for the third consecutive weekend, performing very well on both Saturday and Sunday. Its dominance in mass pockets and the heartland is simply outstanding, emphasizing the tremendous potential of a well-made film beyond urban markets.”
As Border 2 sustains its run, industry insiders remain optimistic about its prospects in the coming weeks.
