Honor Magic 8 Pro Air Chipset, Battery, Other Details Leaked via Unboxing Video Ahead of Launch

Honor is set to launch the Magic 8 Pro Air in China next week, alongside the new Magic 8 RSR Porsche Design, with the official event scheduled for January 19 at 7:30 PM local time. The upcoming flagship is expected to be a slim and lightweight device, part of the Magic 8 Pro series that was introduced in China in October 2023.

Recently, a leaked unboxing video has provided a glimpse into the phone’s key specifications and design features before its official debut. The video, shared by tipster Ice Universe on X (formerly Twitter), reveals that the Magic 8 Pro Air will be available in a new Fairy Purple colorway, described as a vibrant purple hue.

The unboxing shows the device’s ultra-thin profile, reportedly as thin as two coins stacked together. It also highlights a dedicated Camera Control-like button, possibly for zooming or quick camera access. The video further reveals the phone’s settings menu, confirming some of its core specs.

Powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 9500 chipset, the Magic 8 Pro Air is shown to feature 16GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage. The device sports a display with a resolution of 1216 x 2640 pixels and includes Honor’s Oasis Eye Protection technology. It is expected to run on Android 16-based MagicOS 10 and may incorporate Honor’s E2 energy efficiency chip.

Battery details indicate a 5,500mAh Qinghai Lake Battery, promising significant power capacity. The phone sports a punch-hole front camera design, with a hole punch situated at the top center of the display. Included accessories in the box are an 80W fast charger, a USB Type-C cable, and a transparent plastic case.

While Honor has yet to officially confirm all these details, the device will be available in multiple colors, including Fairy Purple, Light Orange, Feather White, and Shadow Black. The Magic 8 Pro Air is expected to weigh approximately 155 grams and measure just 6.1mm in thickness, emphasizing its slim profile.

More details about the launch and official specifications are anticipated to be revealed in the coming days as Honor prepares for the device’s debut in China.
