NAMM 2026 – Neural DSP has announced the launch of the Quad Cortex mini, a compact modeler that delivers the full processing capabilities of its flagship unit in a significantly smaller form factor. The new device aims to meet the rising demand for portable yet powerful guitar rigs.
Since the original Quad Cortex was introduced in 2020, users have requested a smaller version with the same touchscreen, processing power, and user interface. Neural DSP has now responded with the Quad Cortex mini, which maintains the full sound quality, Neural Capture technology, and extensive library of effects, amps, and IRs—all packed into a device weighing just 3.3 pounds and measuring 8.9″ x 4.6″ x 2.5″.
Designed with portability in mind, the mini features a seven-inch touchscreen flanked by four rotary footswitches, offering a workflow tailored for both studio use and live performance. Despite its diminutive size, it supports Neural Capture V1 and V2, and provides access to over 90 amps, 100 effects, 1,000 IRs, and 2,000 Captures. It also includes versatile connectivity options, such as USB-C for audio interface functionality, multiple I/O ports, and a headphone output.
Neural DSP CEO Douglas Castro emphasized that the goal was to set a new standard for all-in-one digital rigs, combining advanced modeling, studio-grade audio, and performance-focused features into a portable package. Co-Founder and CPO Francisco Cresp highlighted the device’s philosophy: “Size shouldn’t dictate what a professional rig is capable of,” affirming that the Quad Cortex mini offers the same high-quality sound and control as its larger predecessor while expanding possibilities for musicians on the go.
The Quad Cortex mini is expected to appeal to guitarists seeking a powerful, portable solution for studio recording, live performance, and on-the-road setups, without sacrificing the features that made the original Quad Cortex a game-changer.
