iPhone 18 Pro Launch Soon: Everything You Need to Know — New Colors, Display, Price and More

Apple is gearing up to unveil its next-generation iPhone series, the iPhone 18 Pro, likely within the next six months. Rumors and leaks have shed light on what to expect from the upcoming devices, covering design, display, performance, cameras, and pricing.

Launch Timeline and Expectations

The Cupertino-based company typically unveils its flagship iPhones in September, and 2026 is expected to follow suit. Following the success of the iPhone 17 series, which introduced a new design, aluminum build, and vapor cooling chamber, Apple appears set to make significant updates to the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max.

Notably, Apple is expected to skip the vanilla iPhone 18 altogether this year, with the base model likely launching in early 2027.

Design and Display

Leaks suggest that the iPhone 18 Pro will resemble the iPhone 17 Pro in design, featuring a continued aluminium unibody and a prominent camera bump. However, Apple plans to introduce a fresh aesthetic with a unified single-tone color scheme, moving away from the two-tone design of the previous generation. Speculations point to new color options like burgundy or a deep red, possibly as a replacement for the Cosmic Orange shade.

Display-wise, the iPhone 18 Pro is expected to retain the 6.3-inch OLED screen, while the Pro Max may keep its 6.9-inch panel. Both models are rumored to feature a smaller Dynamic Island, potentially 35% more compact, thanks to the relocation of Face ID sensors beneath the display, reducing the notch size.

Performance and Battery

Performance upgrades are anticipated with the introduction of a new A20 Pro chipset, built on a 2nm process technology. This chip could deliver up to 15% faster performance and 30% improved energy efficiency over the A19 Pro.

Battery enhancements are also on the horizon. The iPhone 18 Pro Max may feature a larger battery, estimated between 5,100 and 5,200mAh — an increase from the 5,088mAh in the iPhone 17 Pro Max (eSIM version). The Indian variant of last year’s model had a 4,823mAh battery.

Camera Improvements

Apple is expected to retain the triple 48-megapixel rear cameras, including a primary, ultrawide, and 4x telephoto lens. However, there are rumors of new features like variable aperture on the main lens, offering greater control over exposure and depth of field. Enhanced low-light performance and a new three-layer stacked sensor, possibly supplied by Samsung, aim to improve image quality by reducing noise and expanding dynamic range.

The front camera is expected to stay at 18 megapixels, maintaining its center stage selfie capabilities.

Launch Date and Pricing

The iPhone 18 Pro series is likely to be announced alongside the rumored iPhone foldable device in September this year. While official pricing remains unconfirmed, it is expected to remain similar to last year’s models — with the iPhone 17 Pro priced at Rs 1,34,900 and the iPhone 17 Pro Max at Rs 1,49,900.

As anticipation builds, Apple fans await the official reveal of the iPhone 18 Pro, promising a blend of familiar design cues with exciting new features.
