iPhone 18 Pro Max to Feature Larger Battery for Extended Battery Life, Leaker Reveals

The upcoming iPhone 18 Pro Max is set to boast a bigger battery, promising improved battery performance, according to a known Weibo leakster. Citing supply chain sources, “Digital Chat Station” reports that the device will house a battery capacity ranging between 5,100 and 5,200 mAh.

This increase, coupled with the enhanced efficiency of the new A20 Pro chip—manufactured using TSMC’s advanced 2nm process—could enable the iPhone 18 Pro Max to deliver exceptional battery life. The device is expected to be slightly thicker than its predecessor to accommodate the larger battery.

Currently, the iPhone 17 Pro Max holds the record for the largest iPhone battery at 5,088 mAh, offering up to 39 hours of battery life. Recent industry tests have confirmed Apple’s devices lead in battery longevity, with the iPhone 17 Pro Max ranking as the longest-lasting phone among tested models. Apple was also recognized as the top overall brand for battery performance.

With these enhancements—a larger battery and a more efficient processor—the iPhone 18 Pro Max could potentially surpass 40 hours of usage on a single charge.

Additionally, rumors point to the first foldable iPhone, expected to launch alongside the iPhone 18 lineup. This foldable device is rumored to feature a battery exceeding 5,500 mAh, potentially making it the largest capacity iPhone yet, surpassing all current rivals in the foldable market.

The new iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max models are anticipated later this year, with features including a smaller Dynamic Island, the new C2 modem, simplified Camera Control, a 24MP front-facing camera, and an upgraded main camera with a variable aperture.
