Microsoft has rolled out two new updates for Windows 11, each targeting different channels. On the same day, the company released KB5077241 in the Release Preview Channel, which introduces improvements to File Explorer, adds Emoji 16.0 support, and integrates a built-in network speed test directly into the taskbar.
Simultaneously, the Beta Channel received an update—KB5077223—bringing the system to Build 26220.7859. This update primarily focuses on stability and reliability improvements across core features such as the taskbar, File Explorer, nearby sharing, and settings, aimed at delivering a smoother Windows 11 experience for Insiders.
Key Improvements in the Beta Build
The latest Beta build addresses several issues reported by Insiders. Notably, app icons on the taskbar now appear more reliably in the system tray, even when autohide is enabled. Additionally, File Explorer has been optimized to prevent open windows or tabs from unexpectedly shifting to Desktop or Home.
Nearby Sharing has seen enhancements to facilitate the transfer of larger files without interruptions, improving overall usability. In the Settings app, users will find more reliable configuration options under Bluetooth & Devices > Wheel.
Additional Changes for Microsoft 365 Subscribers
An interesting addition for Microsoft 365 Family subscribers is a new feature on the Accounts page. Users can now see an option to upgrade to a different 365 plan. There is also an option to disable suggested content prompts, giving users more control over their upgrade notifications.
These updates reflect Microsoft’s ongoing efforts to refine Windows 11’s stability and user experience, especially within the Insider testing program.
