Prabhas’ horror comedy “The Raja Saab” is approaching the conclusion of its theatrical run, with new reports indicating a significant slowdown in box office collections. On day 22, the film managed to earn only Rs 22 lakhs, reflecting a steep decline in audience interest.
The film, which initially drew attention due to Prabhas’ massive fan following, experienced a strong opening but has seen continuous drops in its daily earnings. Despite a 22-day theatrical presence, “The Raja Saab” has yet to reach the box office milestones expected by industry insiders.
Globally, the movie has amassed Rs 207.43 crore, with Rs 145.18 crore coming from India’s net collections and Rs 173.18 crore from gross collections, according to Sacnilk. Overseas, it has earned Rs 34.25 crore. The Telugu version alone has collected Rs 119.25 crore so far, but daily takings have dwindled drastically — Rs 25 lakh on day 22, Rs 35 lakh on day 21, and Rs 34 lakh on day 20. The Tamil version has contributed Rs 1.09 crore overall, with minimal daily collections in recent days.
“The Raja Saab,” directed by Maruthi, was among the first major releases of 2026. The film featured an ensemble cast including Prabhas, Sanjay Dutt, Boman Irani, Malavika Mohanan, Nidhhi Agerwal, and Riddhi Kumar. Fans had high expectations for a colorful, fun-filled horror-comedy, but the reception was mixed upon release.
One of the key challenges faced by the film was its hefty production budget, reportedly around Rs 400 crore. With such high costs, the movie required blockbuster numbers to break even, which now seems unlikely given its current performance.
As the theatrical run comes to a close, “The Raja Saab” is set to premiere on OTT platforms on February 6. Industry analysts suggest this digital release may rekindle interest in the film, but the box office journey has already concluded on a disappointing note.
