Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday met Sundar Pichai, Chief Executive Officer of Google and its parent Alphabet Inc., to discuss India’s progress in artificial intelligence (AI) and potential collaborations in the sector.

The meeting took place on the sidelines of the ongoing India AI Impact Summit in the national capital. Mr. Pichai is in New Delhi to participate in the summit, being held at Bharat Mandapam, along with an accompanying expo.

Sharing details of the interaction on X, the Prime Minister said, “It was a delight to meet Mr. Sundar Pichai on the sidelines of the AI Impact Summit in Delhi. Talked about the work India is doing in AI and how Google can work with our talented students and professionals in this field.”

The discussions focused on India’s expanding AI ecosystem and ways in which Google could partner with Indian students, developers, and professionals to further strengthen innovation and skill development in the domain.

Earlier this week, the Prime Minister visited the India AI Impact Expo in New Delhi, which features over 600 high-potential startups and 13 country pavilions highlighting global collaboration in artificial intelligence. The summit has drawn participation from more than 20 Heads of State, 60 ministers, and over 500 global AI leaders.
