In an exciting update for fans, Ranbir Kapoor’s highly anticipated film, Ramayana, is scheduled to hit theatres during Diwali 2026. The film, which is being released in two parts, has already generated buzz with the release of its teaser, showcasing Kapoor in the role of Lord Rama. While opinions on the teaser are mixed, a new trend has emerged on social media—fans sharing AI-generated images of Ranveer Singh as Lord Rama, which have garnered considerable attention for their impressive quality.

Social Media Reactions
The AI images prompted enthusiastic responses from fans. One user commented, “Wow! Mere Ram! @RanveerOfficial would have nailed the Lord Rama character.” Another added, “Not gonna lie – he fits the face cut and, knowing his acting range, would have been a better fit.” Interestingly, some fans suggested Ranveer Singh might excel in other mythological roles, like Ravana or Indrajit, praising his versatility and acting prowess.

Ranbir Kapoor Responds to Fan Incident at Ramayana Event
A humorous incident also made headlines from a recent Ramayana event in New York. A fan mistakenly congratulated Ranbir Kapoor for his performance in Dhurandhar, leading to a lighthearted exchange. Vishal Misra, an attendee, shared a selfie with Kapoor, recounting how Kapoor initially thought the fan was referring to another project before realizing the mistake. Kapoor laughed off the confusion, adding a touch of charm to the event.

Teaser Highlights
The two-minute, 38-second teaser offers a glimpse into Kapoor’s portrayal of Lord Rama, capturing his various moods—from fierce battles to moments of exile. The teaser emphasizes grandeur, grace, and regality, setting the tone for the epic saga.

Budget and Release Details
Produced on a massive budget of Rs 4,000 crore (approximately $500 million), Ramayana has been in development for over six years. Producer Namit Malhotra shared insights, stating, “When we started, many thought I was a lunatic because no Indian film of this scale has been made before. The budget for both parts will be around Rs 4,000 crore.”

The first installment is set for worldwide release in October 2026, just ahead of Diwali, with the second part scheduled for Diwali 2027. In addition to Ranbir Kapoor, the film features prominent actors such as Sai Pallavi, Sunny Deol, Ravi Dubey, and Yash in pivotal roles.
