VIJAYAWADA: The Government of Andhra Pradesh reaffirmed its robust and rapidly progressing strategic partnership with Brookfield Asset Management during a high-level meeting held on Tuesday. The discussions took place between Minister for IT, Electronics & Education, Nara Lokesh, and Connor Teskey, President of Brookfield Asset Management, on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting 2026 in Davos.
The meeting reviewed the progress made since their previous interaction in London and focused on accelerating the implementation of the landmark $12 billion Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed at the CII Partnership Summit in Visakhapatnam. This MoU is among the largest clean-infrastructure commitments announced at the Summit and highlights Andhra Pradesh’s emergence as a key destination for large-scale, sustainable investments.
During the Davos session, both leaders discussed expediting Brookfield’s proposed gigawatt-scale data centre campus in Visakhapatnam powered by clean energy, aligning with the state’s goal to establish Vizag as a national hub for data centres and digital infrastructure. The talks also encompassed energy storage solutions, solar manufacturing initiatives, and green hydrogen pilot projects planned near Andhra Pradesh’s port-led industrial zones.
The officials further reviewed ongoing large-scale renewable energy projects in Andhra Pradesh through Brookfield’s platform with Axis Energy and Evren. These projects involve utility-scale solar and wind energy developments aimed at providing reliable, low-cost green power to support industry and digital infrastructure growth.
Minister Nara Lokesh stated, “When a global powerhouse like Brookfield Asset Management—with nearly $1 trillion in assets under management—bets big on Andhra Pradesh, it reinforces our confidence and ambition.”
