Mumbai, January 7: Apple is gearing up to launch its next-generation premium smartphones, the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max, in the latter half of 2026, according to industry reports and recent leaks. The devices are expected to debut at the company’s customary autumn event, introducing what appears to be a holistic upgrade targeting design, performance, and next-generation connectivity.
Refined Design and Display
The new Pro models are rumored to feature a more refined aesthetic, moving to an even thinner titanium chassis and slimmer display bezels for a maximized screen experience. They are anticipated to sport larger LTPO OLED displays, with the iPhone 18 Pro at 6.3 inches and the iPhone 18 Pro Max at 6.9 inches.
Next-Generation Performance Core
A cornerstone of the upgrade will be the introduction of Apple’s new A20 Pro chipset, reportedly built on an advanced 2nm process. This, coupled with a rumored revamped thermal system and up to 12GB of RAM, is designed to handle intensive artificial intelligence tasks and high-performance gaming more efficiently, marking a significant leap in computational power and energy management.
Enhanced Features and Connectivity
The spec sheet is expected to include substantial camera upgrades, larger battery capacities, and support for the latest Wi-Fi 7 standard. The devices will continue using a USB-C port for charging and data transfer.
Pricing and Market Context
With these premium enhancements, the iPhone 18 Pro series is predicted to command a higher price in the Indian market. Estimates suggest a starting price range of INR 1,20,000 for the iPhone 18 Pro, going up to INR 1,40,000 or more for higher storage variants of the Pro Max model. This aggressive update cycle underscores Apple’s strategy to fortify its high-end market position amidst growing global competition.
