However, British actor Hugh Grant expressed his concerns over the deal, saying it was “another piece of bad news” for those who prefer to watch movies in theatres.
Speaking at the Hindustan Times Leadership Summit 2025, Grant said that the acquisition would further diminish the appeal of theatrical experiences. “For those of us who love theatrical experience, that’s another bad news,” he said, reflecting on the impact of digital streaming on traditional movie-going culture.
