Zoho Corporation, a leading global technology firm headquartered in Chennai, announced the launch of its new enterprise resource planning (ERP) solution, Zoho ERP, at a ceremony held in Kumbakonam, a rural town in Thanjavur District.
This marks a significant milestone as Zoho establishes its regional presence in Kumbakonam, with a dedicated team operating from the company’s local office. As Zoho ERP scales globally, the company plans to continue hiring locally to support its expanding operations and product development.
Zoho ERP is a made-in-India platform designed to cater to the needs of fast-growing Indian businesses. The cloud-based solution aims to eliminate the high costs and rigid architectures associated with traditional ERP systems, offering a flexible, low-code, and no-code environment that simplifies implementation and customization without reliance on third-party tools.
Unlike conventional ERPs that layer AI on top, Zoho ERP embeds continuous intelligence throughout the platform. It features AI-driven customization, voice-based assistance with Ask Zia, automation, predictive insights, anomaly detection, and comprehensive visibility across finance and operations.
Shailesh Davey, CEO of Zoho Corp., highlighted the company’s commitment to rural India, stating, “With Zoho ERP, we have built a compliance-ready, homegrown platform that serves as a strong alternative to global ERP solutions. The development and future growth of this product are rooted in Kumbakonam, where we are investing in infrastructure, upskilling local talent, and creating opportunities. This initiative aims to reverse talent drain, bolster the regional economy, and build swadeshi technology from rural India.”
Sivaramakrishnan Iswaran, Zoho’s Global Head of Finance and Operations, emphasized the platform’s capabilities: “Zoho ERP is designed with insights from modern, fast-growing businesses. It integrates fintech, banking, and business software, ensuring local compliance through payroll and tax engines, while delivering an intuitive user experience that enhances productivity and operational efficiency.”
The platform consolidates core financial management, billing, spend management, supply chain, omnichannel commerce, and payroll on a single, unified platform. It is GST and e-invoicing compliant, with built-in revenue recognition aligned with IFRS 15 and ASC 606 standards, simplifying regulatory compliance and providing accurate revenue insights. The payroll system is tailored to Indian regulations, automating compliance with EPF, ESI, TDS, PT, and LWF regulations.
Zoho ERP also offers industry-specific modules for manufacturing, distribution, retail, and non-profit organizations, addressing their unique operational and compliance needs. Manufacturing modules support material planning, procurement, shop-floor execution, and full lifecycle visibility from raw materials to finished goods. Distribution features streamline dealer management, inventory, order processing, and sales insights.
The launch event underscored Zoho’s focus on rural innovation, local talent development, and strengthening India’s technological ecosystem through swadeshi solutions tailored to Indian businesses.
