The Telugu Desam Party held a day-long Parliament Committees Workshop at its central office, NTR Bhavan, bringing together 1,050 members from 25 parliamentary committees. TDP national president and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu participated in the programme and chose to sit in the last row alongside party leaders and workers.

The workshop reviewed the party’s four-and-a-half-decade journey, its ideology, cadre management practices, and the central role of party workers. Discussions also focused on welfare schemes under the coalition government, development programmes, long-term vision plans, and the need for balanced regional development.

Mr. Naidu interacted with committee members and elaborated on the party’s principles, achievements, and roadmap for the future. He emphasised that the worker is the true leader of the party and urged leaders to maintain discipline, stay connected with grassroots cadres, and remain committed to public service.

TDP national general secretary and IT and Education Minister Nara Lokesh inaugurated additional training sessions for parliamentary committees, highlighting social justice, youth empowerment, and inclusive leadership. He said that 33% of positions have been reserved for women and that 83% of committee posts were allotted to newly inducted members. Praising Mr. Naidu, he described party members as his soldiers and reiterated that breaking promises or frequently changing positions goes against TDP values.

On coalition dynamics, Mr. Lokesh underlined the role of parliamentary committees in resolving inter-party differences. He said reforms had been initiated at all leadership levels to ensure greater opportunities for youth and marginalised communities.

Regional training centres will be established in Visakhapatnam, Amaravati, and Tirupati to strengthen cadre skills and improve operational efficiency. Party leaders and workers termed the workshop inspiring.
