Manchester United secured a dramatic 1-1 draw against West Ham United at the London Stadium, as Michael Carrick’s promising start as interim boss came to an end. Benjamin Sesko scored a last-minute equalizer in injury time, rescuing a point for the Red Devils. United, who remain in fourth place with 45 points from 26 matches, have now extended their unbeaten streak to four games under Carrick.

West Ham, fighting to escape the relegation zone, moved to 24 points, just two points shy of safety. The Hammers took an early lead through Tomas Soucek, who finished Jarrod Bowen’s cross in the second half. However, Sesko’s stunning flicked finish in the 96th minute kept West Ham’s hopes alive. A dedicated West Ham fan, who vowed not to cut his hair until United won five consecutive matches, celebrated the draw as the Red Devils failed to capitalize on their recent winning streak.

Meanwhile, Tottenham’s 2-1 defeat to Newcastle United at home significantly worsened their relegation prospects. The defeat marked Spurs’ 11th loss in 13 league games at their stadium this season, prompting chants of “you’re getting sacked in the morning” from disgruntled supporters. Manager Thomas Frank acknowledged the frustration, emphasizing the need for improvement.

Newcastle took the lead through Malick Thiaw, who scored in stoppage time of the first half. Archie Gray briefly equalized for Tottenham after the break, but Jacob Ramsey restored Newcastle’s advantage shortly afterward, securing only their third away league win of the campaign.

In other action, Chelsea’s pursuit of Champions League qualification hit a snag after a 2-2 draw with Leeds United at Stamford Bridge. Joao Pedro and Cole Palmer put the Blues ahead, but Leeds responded with a penalty from Lukas Nmecha and an equalizer from Noah Okafor. Chelsea’s manager Liam Rosenior expressed frustration, citing missed chances and gifting Leeds a point.

At the Hill Dickinson Stadium, Everton’s European ambitions suffered a setback as Bournemouth came from behind to win 2-1. Rayan and Amine Adli scored for Bournemouth, who moved level on points with eighth-placed Everton, intensifying the battle for Premier League survival.
